Mission Statement

The Winterwood Men's Golf Association exists for the sole purpose of providing

recreation, pleasure, and fellowship for the members.

The Winterwood Men's Golf Association (WWMGA) offers one of the best golf values in Southern Nevada. The Club benefits the scratch golfer, the high handicapper, and everyone in between by eliminating the need to find a course to play, putting together a foursome, and scheduling a tee time. The Club maintains a handicap for each member, and pays member dues to the Southern Nevada Golf Association (SNGA) and the United States Golf Association (USGA). We currently have a roster of 113 members which includes an eight member Board of Directors. The tournaments for each year are scheduled in advance at the end of the previous year (see Tournament Schedule for current schedule). Tournaments are held every other Sunday. We are based in Boulder City and most of our tournaments are held at our home course, the Boulder City Golf Course. We regularly host away tournaments as well. In recent years we held tournaments at Boulder Creek (Boulder City), Mountain Falls (Pahrump), Casa Blanca (Mesquite), and Las Vegas National. The biggest advantage for the average golfer looking to play regularly with as little effort as possible is that at Winterwood all you have to do is sign up and show up! It's as simple as that.

WWMGA has been around for over 50 years. It began at the course that gave it its name, the Winterwood Golf Course in Las Vegas that was located off of Sahara Ave. and Nellis Blvd. The original Winterwood Golf Course later became Desert Rose Golf Course, and later still, The Club at Sunrise (its current incarnation). In the 1980s, WWMGA left the Winterwood Course and travelled around with no particular course to call home. The Board of Directors then petitioned the Boulder City Council to request the right to base itself in Boulder City at the Boulder City Municipal Golf Course. As a way of saying Thank You to the town of Boulder City, the Winterwood Men's Golf Association hosts the Charity Classic Golf Tournament in May of each year. Proceeds from the tournament go toward a scholarship fund for members of the Boulder City High School Men's and Women's Golf Teams. To date, Winterwood has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships for these deserving members of the BCHS Golden Eagle golf teams.
